Italy or SoCal? It's Wedding Season!
Thursday, April 21, 2022
Everybody loves a candid, blurry, iPhone snap!

I got lucky because this wedding was held on a Thursday and I got to take a day off to drive all the way down to Temecula, CA with a car full of cool people to celebrate some more cool people!
As one does not simply wake up looking so fabulous, I have included a mirror selfie to document the "after" part of "before & after".

Marco also got the day off, so we met up with two more friends and carpooled. With traffic it took almost 3 hours, and time really flew by like a rock. BUT! We had a great time nonetheless and came up with plenty of games and stories to pass the time, as one does on a road trip.
We *finally* rolled up to the Villa de Amore and popped out of the car to the most incredible views. It truly felt like we'd left Southern California behind (and all of America too) and driven straight into Tuscany, Italy.

After a drive that long, everyone needs a beverage. These were my co-conspirators for the day looking smashing in their formalwear!

So handsome :)

I really spent a lot of the afternoon taking photos of the setting, because it was so beautiful. I mean, how could I not?
My date and me! I call this my Padmé dress because it reminds me of something Natalie Portman wore in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones.

What do you do when you find an empty seat?

Sit in it! Duh. It's hard work being so fabulous.

And then you go make sure the other empty seats tucked away in other locations don't feel left out. So you go sit in those too.

On the hunt for another glass of wine.

Marco and Jared conspired and collaborated on leaving a voice-message for the bride and groom.

We found our seats! (I blurred out everyone else's names because I don't know them and it felt rude to display the entire guest list without asking.)

We got a little snack!

And when everyone was seated, and the entrances had been made...

We got to eat! Marco got beef and I chose salmon, and we shared.

And after dinner there were dessert bites leading into the ballroom for dancing! I ate a cake pop, but it was gone before I thought to snap a pic. Sorry, not sorry.
Look at the evening view!

And we danced the night away! It only took us an hour and a half to get home, and I've been told I fell asleep in the car on the way. I'd say it was all the dancing, but then again, you can never have too much fun!
